Hi Jim,

I am writing further to the above subject which you raised, when you found you were losing letters when marking and copying blocks of text between braille files using the Apex. At the time I last responded to you, I had been unable to replicate this problem; however, I have now been able to reproduce the same apparent peculiarity so am passing this on as a "probable" bug somewhere.

I copied a block of text from a .txt file to do a "quick and dirty" paste into a braille document, thus translating the text pasted into braille, in keeping with the new file. I found on the two occasions that I copied from text files that the first letter was missed off in the copy/paste procedure and I know I had the cursor in the correct position. (I would reiterate that I haven't produced this possible bug going between braille files ...)

Further to this - and as an aside - I was actually copying from text files on my home network at the time and noticed that, having copied the text of the first file, I pressed 1256-chord (expecting to be offered the text file once againbut instead was only offered the file I had just exited. It appears that, for whatever reason, the Apex had not taken account of the previous file used. (Maybe this is a safety net of a network system, or perhaps a shortage of memory ... but I submit the comment in case there is another glitch somewhere, or at least to learn why this should have been.

I am passing a copy of this email to our Humanware Tech Department here in the UK, and I know Tom will follow it up with me and pass on as appropriate.

I'll look out for further occurrences of the two problems listed here and of course for anything else new that I find.
