What is actually more sad than funny about the various April Fools messages shared on the list today is that the "old" Blazie Braille N Speak had a function built in that handled Fahrenheit-Celsius temperature and metric-standard weights and measures conversions of several kinds, as well as a basic interpreter that allowed users with a little knowledge of the basic language to write programs and games that ran on those old Blazie notetakers. They also had a software developers kit that allowed more sophisticated and powerful programs to be written in the C language on a pc and compiled to run on the Blazie units. There were at least two finance programs written for keeping check account records and more. There were programs that could calculate complex interest. There were programs that allowed one to create and emboss graph type charts. There was a utility pack that did several useful functions like encrypt files and more. We had those and many more programs available years ago on what is now considered to be a primative hardware and operating system platform. Humanware, are you listening? Richard Ehrler
