I tried the same thing yesterday, and the Apex was very explicit that place markers could only be inserted into Keysoft files. In a way I guess that makes some sence since Keysoft files are a proprietary format where Humanware can squirrel away whatever they want. .BRF files, on the other hand, are pretty much just printable characters, carriage returns, linefeeds, and form-feeds. There just isn't a way to store place markers or any other peculiar indicators and still have them not get confused with book text. The Apex could, theoretically, let you create temporary place markers that you would then lose as soon as you re-saved the file as a .BRF file, but I guess they just didn't want to go there.

You can't put book or place markers into anything but a keysoft file. is that right? Hmmm, my Apex isnprejudiced. Best, Penny ___ Replies to this message will go directly to the sender.
