Hello everyone,
I've heard, that the audioaccess versions of the audioplus cd books available from rfbd, can be downloaded and plaied on the braillenote mpower's daisy player. There have been posts on the list about this in the past, but it was a long time ago. If there are any of you on the list now, who have an UAK from rfbd installed on your braillenote, could you tell me how I'd go about installing it on my own bn? Is this the type of thing that we can install ourselves? or will I have to send my bn to rfbd in order for them to install it. Being that the braillenote is not an rfbd product, I don't feel to comfortable with the idea of the people at rfbd tampering with it. With a uak installed on my bn, this would allow me to put a copy of the book on the bn, and therefore, have a backup copy should in case I should ever have to send my telex professor in for repairs during the school year. Not to mention, if I should ever have to take my textbooks to school, (which I've never really had to,) but if I did, I'd have it on the bn ready to go. It would certainly be a lot easier to transport back and forth with the bn, rather than my bulky telex professor. The telex professor, while its considered to be portable, I can move it from place to place if I must, but its not designed to be carried around like the bn is. Is installing the uak difficult? Once a uak has been installed on the bn, how long does it last? Does it ever expire? Will the uak be erased if the bn is reset? Do I have to install a new uak for every new book I put on the bn? If I sent the bn to HW for repair, would I have to reinstall the uak when the unit is returned?
