Hi all,
Well, I received my BrailleNote Apex yesterday and it's great!
But i'm having a couple of problems:
1. Quite often, when I try to connect to the internet via WiFi,
it'll take over 2 minutes for the unit to connect, if it does at
all. Then it is very sluggish and sometimes does not display
pages correctly or let me check email, giving me all sorts of
errors. The only thing that seems to fix it is the reset where
you hold down the reset button for 5 seconds, but this is rather
annoying as you have to have the adapter connected to do this.
Has anyone else experienced problems like this?
2. On around 3 occasions so far, when i've had to press the
reset button to fix a crash or try and fix the WiFi issue, I get
a message to the effect of: "System files need updating, press
reset while holding dots 5 5 6 down". Of course once I do this,
all my settings are cleared and I am having to reset everything
at least once a day.
3. I think this has already been confirmed on list as a bug.
Operations that involve marking files, such as copying files,
will not operate and it appears you can only copy files manually.
I need to transfer my school work that I did on my loan mPower
(now on a USB thumb drive) onto my Apex, but it appears i'm now
going to have to copy over 300 files manually. Is there any
quicker workaround that's not too complex or dodgy?
4. I'm using version 9,01. Did version 9 (the previous apex
version) have any of the problems mentioned above? If it didn't,
then is it possible to temporarily downgrade until an update is
released to correct these problems?
Apart from these problems, the apex is fine!
Thanks in advance,
Robert (message sent from BrailleNote Apex)
