Hi folks, particularly Apex users and HumanWare developers,
I'd like to thank Sam for bringing the proting issue here. His
question allowed me to test "printing to a file" option. Along
the way, I've discovered, quite a few things. They are:
* For programming students: The "print to file" option is just an
"ofstream" object. When the proter method (port) is set to file,
it would create a temporary variable of type "ofstream" and use
stream algorithm to print the entire file. This operation would
then create a file called "print to file.txt" on the root of the
RAM Disk (KeySoft System Disk); under mPower and earlier, we the
users were able to access this location; with the advent of Apex,
we cannot access this location on our BrailleNotes. Fortunately,
however, we can access this location via a computer using
ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC) depending on
the operating system used.
* The default character set is now MS-DOS. You can still change
to ANSI mode.
* Apparently there is a new character set called "Korean (949)."
I presume it is there for some sort of testing purposes. Could
this indicate a potential language interface i.e. an Apex for
Korean market? There's already an mPower out there (KeySoft in
Korean).
That's all I have.
Cheers,
Joseph P.S. I'm bored... Maybe I should write a permutation
calculator (using recursion)...
