Sounds like the network is hidden. Two questions: 1. Is this network one to which you have administrative access? That is, can you go in and change settings? If so, ensure that the router's visibility is set to on. If not, see the administrator of the network.
2. Can other computers see this network? I do not mean connect to it; I mean, if a computer comes along which has never before picked up this network, will it pick it up, or does it need to be told what the network is called (the SSID) first?
