I believe Gmail operates differently than other email providers
and thus ignores the BrailleNote's server delete setting. There
is an option in Gmail itself that needs to be changed in order
for messages to be removed. Try logging into Gmail from a PC or
login with the BrailleNote and click the link at the bottom of
the page to go to the basic HTML view. Have a look in the
settings and it should be in there somewhere.
Sorry I cannot be of more help, but I did this over a year ago.

Subject: [Braillenote] Apex leaving message on gmail account
Hello all! I love retrieving my Gmail messages from the apex,
and I save them to folders or delete them to the trash folder.
However, I just discovered that, when I sign in to my gmail
account on the internet with my desktop, all, or a lot of, those
messages were still there, about 163 of them! I have the apex
set to delete messages from the server. What else do I need to
do to get these messages off the gmail account? It's a pain to
check all of those boxes to delete them with JAWS. Thanks!
With a smile,
Karen
