Hi, I bought an external hard drive, a my pasport western digital 320 gig, and it was formatted ntfs. Since my braillenote possibly has a short or something in the usb port and is currently on its way if not in Canada for repairs after being replaced six weeks ago, I do not know if the BN and the external hard drive would have gotten along, but it had aggravating software I was planning on removing so I could possibly reformat it into a fat or fat 32 so I could use it either in a computer or braillenote. Books I had planned on having live on an external hard drive are currently living in my documents right now and if I do go the route of external hard drive--haven't completely made up my mind yet, I want something that the braillenote mpower 32 with keysoft 8, build 20, as the apex is financially not an option for me right now at all, and I found out the hard way that thumb drives crash and that the mpower and high capacity 4-gig SD cards do not get along. I was able to plug a card reader into the usb port and then put the 4-gig in the slot and read that way but after reading for awhile, I chose to swap books and the braillenote didn't see the drive and/or wouldn't let me switch between files or access my files. sooooo....., while my BN is in the hospital getting worked on, I want to find a one-stop shop/place to put most if not all of my books and later mp3 and possibly other files. If I haven't already said it, the external hard drive is not only western digital, it is a my passport. Thanks for any and all suggestions and advice. Have a blessed day. ___ Replies to this message will go directly to the sender. If your reply would be useful to the list, please send a copy to the list as well.
