Hello, if your friend plugs in the USB drive into a PC and the files don't show up try the program at the link below. It is the free addition of Win-utilities. It does have a undelete utility for lost data. I don't know if it will work on this but it doesn't hurt to try. I recommend having a sighted person help with the use of the program. It can be difficult to select the files to restore using some screen readers. I agree with Alex, I would remove any external drives or cards before resetting the BN.
