Thank you Alex, Joseph Peter Timothy and Peggy among Others:

My problem has been long URL's. I've been surfing the net by way of Google, and finding that Google's "text input" point does not work with lengthier URL's. In frustration, I went all the way back to Chapter 1 and Chapter 12.3 of the Manual to figure out that URL's, are really supposed to be entered into the web browser off the Main Menu. How does one get there?

Just by guesswork, I pressed SPACE with i (internet,) and then immediately pressed BACKSPACE V. This downloaded the long and complicated URL that I had stored earlier on the Clipboard. I usually go first to Google, and try there. But now I know. Pressing SPACE-I is the correct way to go. And it's by far, the best place to enter long URL addresses like the following complicated one which happens to teach pinpoint advertising on the Net by way of AdWords.

Thank you for making me go back to the Manual.

I am confused, sorry. Why not either save searches to favorites,
or
just open google.com and search? What is the problem with the
underscore character?

I apologize to the List for my ignorance here, but I'm confused.
Alex and Peggy, among others, have written clearly on this
topic,
but somewhere I'm missing something important. Copying a URL
into Keyweb means what? I've looked through the manual, and
only
see the word barely mentioned in Chapter 12, and only loosely
defined in Chapter 01 as

An internet browser called KeyWeb, that allows you to search
and use the world wide web and also read locally stored html
documents.

Ok, I don't see anywhere where Keyweb speaks to me. It is
loosely defined in the Manual, but shows up nowhere in the
Empower's prompts to my knowledge. Instead, I'm having my
problems with entering long URL's to my many daily Google
searches. Backspace V and Backspace k seem useless there.
Here's my question:

I painstakingly copy long URL's, careful to edit out any
line-breaks, but still Keyweb seems to let me down, as Google
Search never works for me with (underscore) long URL's. Please
clear my confusion.

Gratefully,

David

To paste a URL into the clipboard, use backspace-V at the prompt
for the
site you want. To copy a url from the address bar, do
backspace-K.
