I have a few questions about my BrailleNote Apex. That's why we are here... I'll give it a try.
1. Where is the folder where the sounds played by the Apex located? Nowhere you can find, and that is intentional. The way that the underlying Windows operating system works on the Apex is by hiding all system files from the user. There may be a hack to replace system sounds, but it is somewhat dangerous and not recommended. 2. Can folders be Emailed with the Apex? No, but you can go into a folder and press enter-2-3-5-6 (enter with lower g) to mark all files in that folder. Press enter and they will all be attached. Note that I assume you got to the folder after answering "y" to the "attach a file to this email" prompt. 3. Can the Apex download audio files from the web? Yes. It will stream them or download them, depending on your settings. Press backspace-o, then i, then f. Press space and you will see "stream audio links?" It is likely set to yes. Press n to set it to no, then press enter and close the menus. Audio links that are not live streams will now prompt for a place to save the audio file, instead of playing the file. 4. Can Apex be paired by bluetooth to a Mac computer? Yes, but only for use as a braille display. At this time you cannot synchronize contacts, appointments, or anything else with a Mac, and you cannot wirelessly send files (like you could with, say, a Mac and a cell phone). You can also use a USB connection to have the Apex act as a display. Note that the bluetooth connection will work on all Mac computers running os10.6 or later (maybe earlier versions, but 10.6 is the best one for accessibility) as well as iOS devices like the iPod Touch, iPad, or iPhone. USB connections to iTouch devices are not currently supported. On 9/9/10, Danielle <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi List, > > I have a few questions about my BrailleNote Apex. > > 1.
