Hi,
Deep Sleep Mode means complete shutdown of a BrailleNote.
Whereas just switching the power switch to off position puts it
in standby mode, Deep Sleep turns everything off. Technically,
this feature is handled by the operating system itself, but
KeySoft provides a way of accessing it using its own way of
presenting information. Our "Geeks" had a detailed discussion on
that, as well as what happens during resets (cannot tell you
here, as it is so technical in nature).
For Alex: I mostly use Deep Sleep to not allow battery to deplete
and when I don't want to use it for extended periods (yes, when
in deep sleep mode, battery compartment is turned off).

It is what it sounds like: a way for the bn to "sleep", not
responding
to anything except a reset, being turned off and on, or plugging
in
the adapter. It is useful if you will be storing the bn for a
long
time, or if you will be carrying it somewhere where it might get
turned on. I do not know anyone who has ever used it, though.
It is an
option under the miscellaneous options in utilities.
