Hi BrailleNote list members, HumanWare staff and others,

I'm delighted to announce that I'm working on a third anniversary edition of
BrailleNote PBWorks (http://braillenote.pbworks.com). Codenamed "Galileo,"
this revision's main goals are to clean up the user interface to remove
excessive formatting (to allow the site to load quicker) and to provide
anchors for jumping to specific section in a long article.

Some of the highlights include:
* General: Are you tired of moving through number of headings to find the
information you need? Well, anchors provide faster way of moving to a
desired section in a webpage. Based on feedback and foundations laid in
version 7.0, some notable long articles such as Command Summary will feature
"table of contents" - a list of anchors, or same page links to jump directly
to desired section of the article.
* The "Apex Unboxing" recording will be made availible soon under Podcast
Radio (under user reviews section).
* Mission Backstage (behind the scenes): This page has not been updated for
a while. Coupled with anchors to FAQ's, the content will feature new
announcements and features "discovered" under Apex models. Also, couple more
questions will be added, such as formatting Flash Disk, upgrading other
models to newer OS and other materials.
* BrailleNote Command Summary: The commands for File Manager, web browser
and media player will be added.
* Support Hotline under FAQ's per application: Some short articles belonging
to a program or a category will be combined into a larger website - one per
program to provide a central location from where you can view FAQ's for
using specific tasks.
* Technical: Extraneous coding and formatting will be removed to allow the
site to load faster on mobile devices - particularly BrailleNotes. in place
of this, some more visual elements (such as different colors) will be used
to improve content appearance.
* And other content as appropriate - from suggestions and feedback.

Few notes on upcoming version:
* BrailleNote PBWorks version 7.3 is also tied to supposed new KeySoft
version that is rumored to be in development. When we get announcements on
its release and new feature sets, an update to the site will be made to
integrate new information with the site, just like PBWorks version 5.0 has
been linked to KeySoft 8.0.
* This version is the last version to add new content for BrailleNote
Classic models, with the summer release being the last version for PK users.
However, existing content for these models will not be removed.

The website is, as it has been, braillenote.pbworks.com. The expected
release time is sometime early next year (towards end of January to coincide
with third anniversary of the site creation). I'll periodically post updates
as the version is being developed. If you have any feedback or have
suggestion for new content to be included, feel free to contact me.

* Note to users of other devices: Feel free to comment on website
compatibility with other devices besides BrailleNote - I'll take your
considerations and update the site to improve compatibility with other
PDA's.

Sincerely,
Joseph S. Lee
