Hi folks, particularly Apex users:
Just a warning on bluetooth stereo headphones: THEY WILL NOT WORK
AT THIS TIME!!! Unlike generic bluetooth headsets, these stereo
headphones uses special drivers to receive advanced audio (known
as Advanced Audio Distribution Profile, or A2DP). When Apex does
see the headphones, it'll "mistakenly" assume that it is using
headset profile (HSP) without knowing that it does not; when you
do pair it with the Apex (via headset profile), you'll get the
message that it was paired but you'll get no sound from the
headphones.
From what I read, it is sort of possible to implement support for
these headphones under Apex - all that is required is writing
some routines and using A2DP to detect that a headphone is the
target, not the headset - so that stereo headphones would work
with the devie.
By the way, for mPower users who'd like to use bluetooth
headphones: I'm sorry to inform you that Windows CE 4.2 does not
support this feature - requires at least CE 5.0.
Thus a suggestion for HW: Would it be possible to come up with a
small routine to work with bluetooth stereo headphones in the
near future? I bet there are "testers" who'd like to help you out
testing that routine.
Cheers,
Joseph
