Hi folks, Thanks for all of you who've submitted suggestions for the name and address of our new website for BrailleNote. There were people who favored brailleNote Support, as the site content implies support articles and other useful information about BrailleNote. On the other hand, some said the BrailleNote Users is better, since we are not really tech support in a sense and that the site should be all about users sharing their experiences and tips for other users. There were also words on domain type, as some suggested that we go with .info instead of .com.
Thus, after weighing people's suggestions, I decided on braillenoteusers.info. First, as people have rightly pointed out, the proper support comes from the company - I believe that the forum exists as a place for users to share their experiences and thoughts, but as people said before, if you want some indefth support, emailing HW would be better. Second, the site is planned to be usable by you (end users) and will be designed by you, with all the content written by various users. Third, as someone said, .com implies that it's a commercial site, when our original motive for creating such site was to provide information to the outside world. Once the decision is finalized (agreed upon by the users on this group), I'll go ahead and register the domain. In addition, I need help with design and coding of the site (two positions are availible - associate webmaster/programmer and content editor/reviewer): * Associate webmaster/programmer: Will be responsible for coding the internal structure and engine, such as various Javascript files and content management facility. * Content editor/reviewer: Will receive content from users and edit it. That's all for now. If you have any comments about the name, just let us (the list) know. Cheers, Joseph ___ Replies to this message will go directly to the sender.
