Hi folks, but mostly at Apex users, I'm delighted to announce that the next exciting version of BrailleNote PBWorks site is in development. Scheduled to be released this summer, the 8.0 version will bring more useful navigation experience and a complete command summary among other enhancements.
This new version can be described in three words: * Centralize: : A new page showcasing links to all pages and files will be availible (often called a Sitemap). * Navigable: A new way of getting to desired sections of the site more quickly will be introduced on all pages. * Thorough: The comprehensive command summary for BrailleNote will be completed and will be availible for download as HtML, doc and other file formats. And other changes and new content, including: * The remainder of the word processor tutorial will be recorded. * The ninth chat will be conducted this summer. * A new article on database management, such as creation and export of KeyBase records. * Some of the articles on the site will be updated extensively, including "actioning links in email," "resets" and others. Few notes: * This upcoming version will be the last "official" version to include new content for BrailleNote PK users. mPower will still be supported. As always, no existing content for PK wil be removed. * There will be one final version of PBWorks site (after 8.0) before all content is moved to the new BrailleNote Users website. it was a hard decision for all involved with development of the PbWorks site; the chief reason being difficulty with composition of the article on the site and a need for a user-directed website where users themselves could upload their works. Thus, I'd like to advise at this time that, by next year, BrailleNote PBWorks will be no more - by that time, the new site would have more thorough content than that of existing PBWorks site. That's all. If you have any suggestions or comments for the upcoming site version, please let me (and others) know. Thanks. Cheers, Joseph S.
