Hello Josh,
The unit is exactly one year old. But, shouldn't it turn on even without
the battery? Thanks.

Hi there, How old is the battery? They typically last only eighteen
months, going from other listers' experiences.
Best,
Josh

Subject: [Braillenote] Apex dead
Hello Listers,
On Saturday I turned my Apex on and as has happened at different times,
I got the two beeps as though it was rebooting. After a couple minutes of
repeating this it quit. Now, I get nothing. It doesn't do anything
different even if it is plugged in. I took the battery out and still
nothing. I tried all of the resets in the appendix C and even had my
sighted wife look at the back and with it plugged in there are no lights.
Now, here's the strange thing. This morning I turned it on and pushed the
reset and got the two beeps again for a few times. Now, it is dead again.
And, of course, tech support is closed today. If any of you have had
anything like this please tell me what is going on. I know I will
probably have to send it in. But, I'm in Costa Rica so that makes things
much more difficult. Thanks for your thoughts.
Sincerely stuck!
Terry Sanders
