Hi,
In my opinion, I'd buy it. It's a great machine! Even though it
has its quirks, so does all technology, right? Will someone
please correct me if I'm wrong?
Sincerely,
Jasmine

I am going to be buying the apex and now that this quirk with the
keyboard
is an issue, what do you guys recommend, should I buy it now or
wait a
couple of months? Or should I just go ahead and buy it anyways
and keep the
problem and its work around in mind.

For anyone whose Apex freezes repeatedly,
1. Try to identify a pattern, such as what you were doing just
before
the freeze: the program you were in; whether you were on AC power
or
battery; and so on;
2. Send a report to [email protected]
Tech support is working on the freeze problems but is looking for
more reports to try to identify patterns and reproducible
situations.
This is what they tell me.

Hi Aleha,
Hmm... most of these qwerks are KEYSOFT 9.1 bugs, as far as I
know. I get the "cannot find bookmark" thing too. Try clicking
on
it again and see if it works. The keyboard being frozen is a
bug,
and you might want to bring that up to HW (HumanWare.) The
battery
issue is probably because the Apex is running computer technology
whereas the mPower was running PDA technology. By the way, is
the
keyboard frozen when you first unplug the AC adapter? If so, I
think
this is a bug on HW's end and it happens on my Apex as well. Try
turning the BN (BrailleNote) on, then unplugging the charger, and
you should be good to go! Hope this helps!

Subject: [Braillenote] a few apex quirks
Hello all,
I just received my Apex on Tuesday. I am noticing three
things that I did not notice with the Mpower. I was wondering if
anyone else has noticed these things and if there are
work-arounds to them.
About a third of the time that the Apex powers on, its keyboard
is frozen and I have to reset the unit.
Also, when I am on web pages and try to click a link or a button,
I get a message stating "cannot find bookmark."
The third thing that I noticed is that the battery definitely
does not last as long with the Apex as it did on my old Mpower.
Any possible work-arounds or helpful hints with these
situations would be greatly appreciated. I really enjoy this
Apex other than the few quirks that I have noticed. The Apex is
a BT32 and is running the latest version of KeySoft.
Thanks,
Aleeha
