Hi, I'm not sure if Humanware will be interested in providing drivers for
other braille displays since they now sell an Apex with a braille display.
I'm asuming that they would figure that if someone wants to use a braille
display they would buy a Braillenote rather then a Voicenote. I know there
is quite a price jump from one to the other and it would be nice if you
already have a braille display for you to be able to use it with a voicenote
but I don't think this would be a high priority for them. If they did
decided to provide drivers for external displays then they would only want
to do this for displays they sell but I don't think that will be any time
soon.

Bye for now,

Subject: [Braillenote] external braille display was Display braille

| Just received my voice note on Monday and loving it. It does crash
| occasionally, but I love it anyways. It does everything I knew it would
| when I made the decision to purchase it. It's so small compared to my pac
| mate omni and so easy to use. It's a nice mobile computer and I am sure
| there are lots of things that can be done with the hardware with a capable
| programmer.
| My suggestion for humanware for a future feature for the apex would be
to
| have some drivers available so that we could use our external Braille
| displays like the focus 40 blue on the apex. It would be nice to have
this
| capability when editing Braille documents. I tried plugging my display
into
| the apex and got the expected result that this hardware isn't supported.
I
| think it would be a nice feature to have this option available for those
of
| us who already own a couple of Braille displays and would like to use them
| on the apex when at home. It shouldn't be hard to write a driver for the
| apex to take advantage of the buttons I have on my focus display.
| Who would I make this suggestion to at humanware? It seems like a good
| idea.

|
| Yeah, that would make sense then. I have the plastic touch
| cursor buttons.
