This morning I did some editing of a file and I kept the adapter plugged in
and sure enough it didn't crash but performed normally. In the past, I
would have unplugged the adapter and edited my file but within a few
keystrokes, it would lock up on me. To fix the issue I found that I need to
remove the battery pac for a few seconds and then put it back in and hit the
power switch to on and this seems to solve the issue.
My guess is that the apex has issues with the power management when
switching from AC to DC and this seems to cause issues with the keysoft
program. In my experimenting, I found that taking out the adapter plug
while the unit is on, then switching the unit off and removing the battery
for a few seconds and then putting the battery back in waiting till you here
the battery inserted beep, and then hitting the power switch and when you
hear the keysoft launch song, then you are safe to go and use.
This doesn't mean it won't crash, but this at least illiminates the crashing
due to power management.

Hi Marco,

Sadly, these errors are not only for the QT models. I also
encounter them on my BT.

I've noticed with my apex qt model that it crashes a lot for
routine tasks
like opening a file or editing a file. I like the quietness of
the qt
keyboard and hopefully these software issues will be addressed in
the next
update.

I've had such errors as this application has encountered an error
and must
shut down and then the machine just freezes. Another error I get
sometimes
on my qt is access violation errors at memory location *** and so
on.
Hopefully these are fixable.

Features that worked on the mPower QT don't work on the Apex QT.
That's
HumanWare's fault. Because the QT model doesn't do what I expect
it to, I
cannot recommend the qwerty Apex and I cannot say the qwerty
model is
reliable.
