The only charger you can use is Humanware's, because it has such
a high voltage. I found this out when my dad accidentally packed
my laptop's charger instead of my BrailleNote's for a trip to
Virginia. We tried going into Radio Shack and Batteries Plus,
but neither had a high enough voltage (3.6) charger to recharge
my BN.

Hi,
Maybe you need to go to the Humanware site and order a new
battery.
Rechargeable batteries wear out eventually. If you had the same
one for
five years, it's about time for it to die.
Don't get a battery from Radio Shack; get it from Humanware. I'm
surprised you got a charger from Radio Shack. I'd think
Humanware would
want you to use their charger.
