I am using the latest version of Jaws 13, the Apex Braille keyboard, and a Bluetooth connection.

Also, which connection method (USB or Bluetooth) are you using? In order to use Apex as a keyboard, you need support from screen reader. Cheers, Joseph ----- Original Message ----- From: "Marks, Jim" <[email protected] To: "[email protected]" <[email protected] Date sent: Thu, 19 Jan 2012 00:02:23 +0000 Subject: [Braillenote] Apex As Keyboard for PC Is it possible to use the Apex as a keyboard for operating a PC? I connected my Apex to my Dell Duo via Bluetooth, but none of the three options permit the Apex to serve as a keyboard to operate the computer. For those who don't know about the Dell Duo, it's a soon-to-be-discontinued netbook computer with a display that flips to switch between standard netbook and a touch pad. The touch pad option is not accessible with a screen reader, but some are able to run the Dell Duo in its touch pad mode with the ad of external keyboards and refreshable Braille displays equipped with keys. Because the docking station for the Dell Duo can only be operated in its touch pad mode, an external keyboard is critical for non-visual operation. My guess is that the Apex will not serve as an external keyboard for another device, but I thought I would ask anyhow. Thanks much in advance for the info! ----- Jim Marks [email protected] ___ Replies to this message will go directly to the sender.
