Hi Bob, Both cards are used for storing memory. They're just variations on the same idea. Except that the PCMCIA card is larger, and there are three types of them. The bn only is compatible with type II, and therefore anything that you try to use the card with must be compatible with type II. That's why I think you're best bet is to either get cf cards and an adapter if you have a laptop compatible with type ii or buy a reader if you have a PC. Both are relatively inexpensive, someone between $10 and $20 US. HTH, Laura
