Hi Listers: I spoke to BrailleNote Tech Support this afternoon and they conffirmed that the free disk space on the Keysoft system disk (7.8MB) is used as temporary space for opened files (both in the word processor and document reader features) and web pages (Keyweb). this will cause the amount of free disk space on the Keysoft system disk to shrink. However, when the files are closed, the used space on the Keysoft system disk won't be returned -- in other words, the amount of free disk space will continue to decrease as more files and web pages are accessed. Tech Support said that the Keysoft system disk needs to be purged from time to time and to use a hard reset for this purpose. to check the amount of free disk space remaining on the Keysoft system disk, go to the file manager and select the directory option. Use the space bar to choose the keysoft system disk. Do a Read + i to get the amount of remaining free space on the Keysoft system disk.
So that's why I was unable to open a 650KB ebook from bookshare.org and got the "There is not enough disk space" message. The amount of free disk space left on my Keysoft system disk was only 600KB. A note to Jonathan: I was unable to find any reference to "Disk space" in the BrailleNote on-line help section (Read+help) or in the on-line manual. Also, a hard reset is not covered in the on-line help index in the reference to resetting the BN. Barbara Wagreich
