I just wanted to say a huge thank you to all those who took the time to reply
to my request for help on Monday. Unfortunately, that message was written in
rather a hurry, and I sent it without looking at it or thinking about what I
had actually said. In fact, it was my flash disk which had been reformatted,
not the flash card.

What actually happened was this:

I connected to the Internet, and whilst connected the Braillenote locked up and
so I reset it by pressing the reset button. Without any other warning, I was
told that the Flash disk had been reformatted and that there were 16 mb free.
I, like many people on this list, have found that the problem corrects itself
if I reset again, and so this is what I did. The message I then got was that
Keysoft 4.1 was installed, and when I checked the Flash Disk, the only things
there were the factory installed files. As I said, luckily, I had backed up a
week ago, and so although I have lost some data it is nowhere near as bad as it
could have been. The moral of the story for me is a daily incremental backup.

I received my Braillenote in October or November 2003. I have tried
downloading Keysoft 5, but each time the connection has crashed. Perhaps
someone could tell me if I should be able to obtain a copy of this from
Pulsedata in the UK, or if my problems with downloading have occurred because I
am not registered.

Once again many many thanks for everyone's help. I hope one day I can return
the favour by helping others on this list.

With best wishes to you all

Donna Slater.
