I would have converted it to a plain braille file, then send to your pc. That would emboss properly! You need Keysoft in order to emboss a .kwb file correctly!

Hi all,

I have an unique problem. I have my braille Note connected to a
different computer from the one to which the embosser is connected. I
transfered a kwb file via the serial cable to the one computer and
placed it on a floppy. When I placed the floppy in the other computer
and told it to print the file, it printed gibberish at the beginning
where I used formatting commands, and then it didn't paragraph
correctly or anything. I finally had to convert the file to TXT, add
formatting commands for Turbo Braille, convert the 'bif' file to a brl
file and print it.

Life shouldn't be this difficult! I think the ActiveSync progran
converted my kwb file to something unrecognizable. I find it
interesting that when I downloaded a 'brl' file, Braillenote was able
to use it just fine, no problems at all! How do I tell Activesync to
keep its paws *off* my files!!?

I would think that my old Versapoint would understand a kwb file???
Help! I'm doing tons of extra work here, folks!

In frustration,
Ann P.

P.S., <wailing> What's wrong with FTP? FTP doesn't muck with files!
