Hi, Jim

The 9 followed by a comma is not country-specific but telephone
system-specific, ie if the establishment from which you wish to connect
reqquires you to dial 9 for an outside line, that is what you want to enter
into the phone number setting on the BN. Incidentally, the purpose of the
comma is to insert a pause (half a second, I think) in order to allow the
outside line time to come up with the dialling tone - if you so wish. you
can insert multiple commas if you need a longer pause!
Regards

Richard Bartholomew

Subject: [Braillenote] Retrospective Thanks, Peggy.

> Hallo, Peggy. Thank you so much for letting me know what i SHOULD have
done (smile.) Is the nine plus comma only applicable in the USA? I did
look up the Manual in the hopes of getting guidance on this, but there was
none, so naturally relied on the manager's prior knowledge, which must have
been a comma missing!!!
