Hi Tom,

This may be too late, but here's the answer. You can use the bn as a terminal,
but if you want to input data, you would need to program the screen reader
to recognize each key and perform the operation of that key.

In other words, the bn is really a dumb terminal with all the programming
coming from the screen reader. In the case of jfw you would have to program
each
of the keys (letters for example) to produce the letter on the pc when the
corresponding key on the bn is pressed.

I think these keys are defined in the keyboard manager. The same basically
holds true for window eyes and the key assignments can be found in the we
menu in hot keys under the braille options.

It really should work, but setting it up would be rather tedious.

Hi all,
Recently I had occasion to hook up a Braille Note to a desktop PC at my
office and use it as a Braille Terminal. It seemed to work okay, but I
couldn't figure out how to use the Braille Note to enter text into
documents, fill out forms on the web or draft the contents of e-mail
messages. When you use the Braille Note as a Braille terminal, how do you
accomplish text entry, or must that be done on the PC keyboard?

Thanks in advance for a prompt answer to this one; I need to hear from
someone within a couple of hours if that's possible. I have a student coming
in today who's particularly keen to do this and would like to show her how
if possible.
Cheers!
Tom
