Hi Todd, I'll try to explain this. If the BrailleNote shows a message on the braille display, perhaps an error message or some kind of status information, this "message display time" setting determines how long the information stays on the display before it disappears. I've just experimented with this option and I'll give you an example to show how it works.
Usually I have my message display time set to 0. If I want to find out my battery level, I enter the Options menu and hit the letter P. With the message display time set to 0, the battery percentage information just stays on the display until I get rid of it, either by pressing the thumb keys or by writing something on the keyboard. As an experiment, I just set the message display time to 2, by typing the number 2 in grade 2 braille. Having done that, when I checked my battery level again, the information remained on the display for two seconds before it disappeared and was replaced with the current line of the file in which I was working. I hope this is comprehensible. Was I detailed enough?
