Ann And List, Wireless, and wired Connection to a business network and to other devices is more important than ever. At work, we don't use wireless, but wireless, wired, USB, and other state of the art connectivity hardware and software is needed.
Once I do connect, I need my Braille PDA to work with my PC, business network, and data created in the XP platform. I need a browser which will work with the secure intranets and internets used by business. THIS WOULD ALLOW ME, FOR INSTANCE, TO RETRIEVE MY business EMAIL on the road. Co-workers use Blackburrys. I would also, for instance, be able to read, in Braille, The Word XP document that my co-worker just sent to me. I need a note taker that will work hard in the business environment on the job. To this end, the BrailleNote, and other Braille PDA devices become more valuable and functional to me. Hi all, Andy, although I can understand your comment, some things may not be needed as crucially as are others. So long as you can use a version of Word, there should be no problem, Access is a bear to operate in any environment for a blind person. However, wireless connectivity is absolutely essential if PDI wants to stay ahead of the game as far as the PDA market. Both competitors of the Braille Note have Wireless connectivity. This is something which has got to be done or they will lose the market. I will say that after seeing version 1 of the trecker seems like the one from PDI is better. Seems like it gives more info. However, the wireless issue is a major one, you can always update the word processor and the database and all that, but if you can't connect to your school's or your company's wireless LAN, then, you're out in the cold. I hope PDI is working on this. Ann P. -- Ann K. Parsons email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] WEB SITE: http://home.eznet.net/~akp "All that is gold does not glitter. Not all those who wander are lost."
