Roselle, I was loading them onto my flash disk, and whether or not the option was set to grade two braille or ascii did make a difference. Every time I forgot to set it to grade two before reading my book, it didn't open with the text that I had just finished reading. getting my book in brf from the flash disk, mybooks file.
It did seem blank the first few times I tried it on my flash disk with the system set in ascii. Once I changed my settings, the book opened and worked pretty well. I'm not arguing, just telling you what I did that eventually worked for me. Oh, another thing, I never just move files but copy them. I figure I can clean house after I see my book, and I do. Once I see my book, I can clean the bks file out of mybooks and downloads. I also have rules about erasing things. After every time I've erased a batch of stuff, I go to that free-up-data-space and clean it out. For example I'm reading emails now. After I empty the trash, I always free my data space in that mailreading place. I don't let things build up.
