Hi, As far as cell phones are concerned, it's not quite as simple as you might hope. I found this out the hard way!
First of all, if you already have a cell phone provider and want to stay with them, you should go to their web site and see exactly which phones they support. Since different systems use different technologies for their networks this is very important since not all phones will work with the differentt networks. If you don't have a cell phone provider you need to locate one in your area which has the kind of coverage you will need as well as a plan which suits both your needs and your budget. Then, you have to look at the phones that provider supports. If you go to the Nokia site for example, and if you find a phone you think you'd like, you need to check with your cell phone provider to be sure that phone will work on their network. There are tons of different model cell phones out there so you really do need to narrow the field down as much as you can. If you find a phone or phones you like which are available for your cell phone providers network, then go to the cell phone manufacturer's web site and look for these specific phones to get as much data as you can on what the features the phone(s) have and what they will do. If nothing else, it gives you good practice at learning how to use your screen reader or braillenote as well as your browser. <grin> I know this doesn't give you the kind of specific answer you're looking for, but maybe it can help in your search to find out what can work for you. I just went through this process myself over the past couple months and it really does take some patience as well as investigative persistance. Good luck. I'm interested what newer phones people might be using, that they like really well, with the BN. I hope that by having the availability with the IR port and a cell phone, to use to get online, that this means there's more of a selection for us to choose from in terms of newer phones. Is this true? I'm not planning on using the BN with a cell phone anytime soon, since I can achieve much faster speeds on my PC with a dial up connection, unless i can use the IR port, and also unless the use of the IR port means surfing at high speeds. Then I'd be interested, grin. Mainly though, I'm trying to plan for the future, for when I will want to use the IR port. Anyway, any insight on this would be much appreciated.
