Hi Les,
Pulse Data is shipping the magelllan 310 gps receiver, while the sendaro
group is shipping the magellan sportrak gps receiver.
I am presently using both in Wisconsin and will give a report later this
month, before I go to Florida for business and let you know if any
difference in acuracy or advantages.
The one good thing about either receiver is that the serial cable will
attach to either gps reciever, so you don't have to buy a new cable for $29.00.
The Sportrak magellan sells for $108.00 online, not from Sendaro
group, but that does not come with the serial cable.
It also runs on two double AA batteries and they fit in the butt end of the
receiver instead of pulling off the back of the magellan 310.
otherwise they are both about the same size and weight, but you also need
to buy the special carrying case for the sportrak receiver from Sendaro
group for I believe $29.00 too.
Finally, for those who haven't taken advantage of my free offer for a gps
2.0 users manual in braille, I still will honor any requests for sometime
yet, so give me your name, and mailing address and I will shoot you one
out, it is 112 pages long in braille on 11 by 11 inch paper.

I will be receiving GPS version 2.0 as a new purchase very soon.
Regarding the receivers, it is my understanding that the receiver
shipped by PDI is different than the one shipped by Sendero. I had
heard that the receiver used by Sendero is newer and therefore tracks
more satellites and uses WAZ technology. So my questions are as
follows.
1. Are different receivers being used? If so, why is this the case?
2. Given the need for preciseness when creating routes, does the
Sendero receiver have advantages to the user?
3. Will PDI be selling the same receiver as the Sendero Group, and if
so, which one will I receive? Assuming there isn't a delay in shipment,
I'm hoping to have GPS in a month or so. Thanks in advance for the
info.
Best Regards,
Les
