I have already gone through this issue and there is not any way to convert these files to access from pocket access. If that were the case then one could also load the addressbook very easily as well as update it etc.
According to MS this format is not a format that is compatible with the current version of pocket access. I got all this by burning up one of our premier calls. They connected me with a support engineer who was very helpful including writing me some custom code that he felt would do the job but it didn't work.
