Hi Kyrstin, paul and all. This morning I had 283 messages in my inbox. I deleted about 20 email the usual way, (pressing e plus space, and move to the trash folder) then, becoming impatient, I marked all the rest and chose "delete from this folder" option. I waited, then waited some more. After about 20 minutes I had deleted 19 messages. That's almost 1 email per minute. So I came all the way out of the email menu and responded "yes" to the question about emptying the trash can. This took about ten minutes (so we're now processing about 30 emails in ten minutes (a better average, but no cigar yet). Then I went back into the email program, chose setup options and chose "free database space". It took about three minutes to free the database space. Then I went back into the inbox, marked the other 253 messages and chose "delete from this folder" once more. This time it took four minutes to delete all my email. Now, that deserves the cigar. Somewhere in all this superstitious behavior of mine, I hit on a lucky combination of events. Could some techie type person from PDI please tell me which of all this flurry of activities caused the "move to trash" process to speed up, and why? Please enlighten us?
