Dear Terry,

I've been brailling since I was in the first grade.

Nevertheless, when I'm using a computer, I prefer to use a QWERTY keyboard.

The BN's keyboard is not at all hard to learn. The letters and numbers are
the same as a PC and most of the punctuation is the same, too.

The major differences between the BN's keyboard and a full-size keyboard on
a PC are:

1. There are no f1-f12 keys on the top of the keyboard.

2. There is no number pad.

3. The double quotation mark is in a different place.

4. There is only one read and control key.

The shift key is in a different place, much more convenient in my opinion.

I have never seen a keyboard on a laptop, but I believe most laptops don't
have a number keypad.

6. The BN doesn't have an insert key.

PDI wanted to have a compact but useable keyboard and that's why they made
it the way they did.

I find it to be a very easy keyboard to use and I only had to learn a few
differences. I didn't have to "memorize a whole new keyboard."

I must add that I don't think laptop keyboards have the 12 function keys,
but I could be wrong about that.
