Thanks Roselle
The calendar worked. Why didn't they put those commands in the command
list? They had entering letters. This is so much easier. It should be in
the new manual.
Thanks again.

Terry,

Keyboard Learn gives you the meaning of keystrokes that work anywhere in
Keysoft (thus, the letters, numbers and punctuations for whichever Braille
grade you're using for entries) and commands that work from the Main Menu.
Some keystrokes for commands work differently from one application to
another, and doesn't work in the Main Menu. For example, SPACE with dots
2-6 (the "e n" sign) which you're asking about does not work in the Main
Menu. In Keymail, it takes you to the E-mail Action Menu. In Keylist, it
adds the record you're creating to the database.
The equivalent of the Keyboard Learn specific to an application is the
Announce Key Mode which you enter only when you're in that specific
application (Keymail, Keyplan, Keyword, Keyweb, Keyplus, etc) and by
pressing SPACE with W and exit with SPACE with E. There is no such mode,
however, in the Address List.

When you're creating a record in the Address List, you have two ways of
exiting when you're through and wish to add it to the database. The first
is to press SPACE with E then type Y for yes when asked confirmation to add.
The confirmation is there in case you do not really want to add the record,
say you changed your mind.
On the other hand, if you're certain you wish to add the record and would
like to skip that confirmation message, the command is to press SPACE with
dots 2-6 (the "e n" sign). Therefore, you can press that command ANYWHERE
while writing that record: in the Last or First Name field, Home or Business
Phone field, Home or Business Email Address field, ANYWHERE, not just on the
Notes field. The only exception is that you cannot press that command while
inside the Notes field.
Observe that when you are on the field called Notes and you press ENTER, a
document opens so that you can write more than one line of information.
When you're done writing in that document, you can exit and you will be
returned to the field called Notes. At that point, you are still on the
record and have not yet added it. Since this is the last field, you can
press SPACE with dots 2-6 (the "e n" sign) to add the record, but it doesn't
mean you can only do it there. In fact, you can press SPACE with A to go
back through the previous fields and edit them, then press SPACE with dots
2-6 (the "e n" sign) anytime you want.

You asked if you can add other info after creating a record. As stated
above, if you have not yet added the record by exiting and confirming the
saving of the record in the database or pressing SPACE with the "e n" sign.
If you have added the record already, you can still edit the info there or
add more by using the LookUp option (press L) in the Keylist Menu (read
Section 10.3 for instructions on how to use this) to locate the record you
wish to modify.
When on that record already, press SPACE to navigate to any field,
preferably the one you wish to edit, but you can be on any field, then press
BACKSPACE with C. You can now edit the field entries or add new info to
blank fields. Remember that if you wish to clear a field, you press SPACE
with dots 3-5-6 (the "by" sign). For more info on changing fields or adding
more information, read Section 10.4.

To save time and minimize list traffic, let me answer your Calendar question
here as well. Enter Keyplan by pressing P from the Main Menu. Type O to
open the planner file. You are placed on the calendar. Press SPACE with
dots 5-6 (the letter sign) to move forward a full year from the current
date. Thus, if it's December 17, 2003 today, that date will be offered
first and pressing SPACE with the "letter sign" will take you to December
17, 2004.
Pressing SPACE with dot 4 will move you to the next month, January 17, 2004.
Pressing SPACE with dot 5 will move you to the next week, while SPACE with
dot 6 (the capital sign) will move you forward a day.
Therefore, if you wish to select January 26, 2004, when you're on the
Calendar in Keyplan, press SPACE with dot 4 to take you to January 17, then
SPACE with dot 5 to move to January 24, then SPACE with dot 6 twice to
select January 26. Hit ENTER and the 2004 planner file will be created and
opened on that date.
Remember that you must select the date first in the calendar before you open
the planner file, especially if it's a date in a different year from the
current one, because each year uses its own separate planner file.

HTH,
Roselle
