Here's another side to the coin, besides all that Sabahattin brought out: How 
do we all go about learning equipment if we don't have any to begin with? Many 
of as teach ourselves, as well as learning from tips of others.  There would 
have to be many more teachers, and the price would sky-rocket that much more!
No, Don's idea is totally unsuitable!!
