Why not just use your bn or pk until you get a critical message, check the 
options menu under battery power to se at what percent your battery is and 
simply go from there.
What I often do if my battery is down to like 2 or 3 % is put a long document 
in and let the battery run down by reading me something. Usually I simply run 
the battery down from use.
