[Braillenote] speech question

Hi Listers,
I was wondering is there a way to have the speech say the letters like b and c 
prounced as letters instead of as but and can? I ask because my younger 
students like writing on the Braillenote and they aren't familar (the letter 
signs.  So it'd be nice if when they type the letter b it says b instead of 
but.  Thanks for your help and your time.  I tried switching the keyboard grade 
to Grade 1 but it didn't work.  Thanks for your time and your help.
