Hi Donna, The Braillenote will not work with devices that require the installation of drivers. Thus it would not work with a DVD player. It will work with the Super Disk drive, CF and PCMCIA memory cards, certain PCMCIA or CF network cards, certain PCMCIA modems, etc. I almost forgot that it works with a GPS system. I haven't heard of it working with a bar code reader.
