Just a quick comment to everything that's been said on this thread, which is
all correct. The actual setting which controls the grade of Braille used when
translating a text document on the Braille display is the "Text Document
Reading Grade" setting, also found in the Braille Display Options. This
setting applies to all text documents, and the options are the preferred
reading grade, 6-Dot Computer Braille, and 8-Dot Computer Braille. Since Grade
I isn't an option under the "Text Document Reading Grade" setting, one must
make this the setting in "Preferred Reading Grade", and then have "Preferred
Reading Grade" be the setting for the text document reading grade. The setting
for the preferred reading grade itself is actually used to only govern prompts,
as Lisa has discovered, but the reason the preferred reading grade setting
affects the reading grade of text documents is because, by default, the setting
which determines the text document reading grade is set to the preferred
reading grade; however, if you wanted one of the Computer Braille types, you
could change this independently of the preferred reading grade.
