Although chargers are becoming smaller, the reason the BN charger is
large may be due to what it does. A charger, besides allowing current
to flow to whatever device it is, must be able to transform the
current to a voltage and an ampierage that is compatible with the
device whose battery is being charged. I am not sure but I think some
of these chargers have capacitors that store the electricity and bleed
it off in smaller bits to whatever device it is. This, unfortunately
does take space for the equipment.
