Josh, it seems that when the battery starts to get low, anything that makes it work hard will give a battery is critical message. I'm no expert, and not a spokesperson for PDI, but that's my observation. If the only time you get the critical message when you're not really critical, is when you're low and doing intense stuff like connecting to the modem, I wouldn't worry.

When I'm online a whole lot at home with my braillenote and not at a computer. I have no compact flash cards or PCMCIA cards inserted...I get a battery is critical message at 20% level. why is this? Note that I keep the modem connected when going between internet and email. Is this normal?
