Which ever one of you is using the VN, try to use the head set. When I use
my computer and Jaws, I use the head set all the time and it seams to
amplify the sound and clerity. When my teacher was hear on Friday, I had a
hard time understanding Jaws because she was typing and I was listening. I
have a mild hearing problem also. I have to use an amplifier on my phone so
I can answer phone calls. Try it and see if it helps. I have not tried it
but it works on the computer.

Hi Keisha,

I completely understand. <smile> I have a severe to profound hearing loss in
my right ear and I'm profoundly deaf in my left ear. I use a BrailleNote
with a Braille display. I can't use speech output because like you said, I
miss out on too many consonants and can't get enough amplification.

In regards to your situation...Are you a client of vocational rehab? Perhaps
you could trade in your VN for a BN.

Lisa
