Yes, but what is the difference between using the thumb keys and going into
the options menu and setting the line displayfor line endings? Is it the
same thing or does it perform different actions?

Yes, you do. I use a QT and pressing the previous and next thumb keys at
the same time until you see "reading mode" works on my BN QT.
Also, you can change the options in the BN QT so that in reading mode the BN
will display the line endings the way you want them to. You have to have a
document open. Press function with o, then type the letter b to get to the
braille display options. Press space until you see, "show new lines in
reading mode as." It is right after the "braille display mode" option.
It's on all QT models.
