Regarding downloading of large groups of messages on the bn, I've downloaded
200 or more on several occasions. Yes, it was often slow, but very very
few freezes.

I seriously doubt whether the bn is a qt or not, 32 or 18-cell, has much if
anything to do with this. It's most likely more a function of which version of
keysoft
you are using.

Remember that you can end up with all sorts of junk in your email, much of
which you don't expect or even care about. Many times email programs will put
out attachments which often don't hurt anything as they may be related to
messages in html and such, but the bn still has to download them as well as the
messages they're attached to.

So, the bottom line is that it is difficult to estimate just how long a large
group of messages will take to download.

As has been pointed out, it's best to download your mail frequently so as to
keep the volume of the download down, but that's just not always possible.

It's my understanding that email handling will be greatly improved in upcoming
releases so hopefully that will make this discussion a thing of the past.
Let's
hope so!
