"Root", just like so many other computer terms, while correct, may not be 
familiar to those on this list who have not used a PC.  PDI did a very good job 
creating a product that, while still a computer, talks and acts a little less 
techie than your standard PC.  It all comes down to semantics, and that's just 
one of those things not everyone agrees on.
Furthermore, "root" started out as a DOS term, and people who have only had 
experience with windows may not be as familiar with DOS terminology as some.
