Dear List, I would like to make a suggestion which I made before but which was turned down.
I would like the list to be set up so that using the reply function will send a reply only to the sender and the reply to all function would send the message to the sender plus the entire list. I'm using Outlook Express and it seems I must go through hoops to reply to someone privately. The way the list is presently set up, pressing control r replies to the whole list because Outlokk Express thinks the sender is the list address, not the sender's personal address. The GW Micro list is set up so control r will reply to the sender and shift control r will reply to everybody on the list. Other lists I belong to are set up like the BN list. I have yet to figure out an easy way to get MS OE to do what _I want it to do. I think my suggestion would encourage people to send messages which pertain to the sender's question but which may not be appropriate for the whole list to receive. I'm mainly thinking of the "i agree," "thank you," "for so-andso," type of messages. If PDI and the list doesn't agree to such a change, could someone kindly email me privately and give me some tips on making OE do what I want it to do? Thanks so much!
